Time to Go -- Sep 2, 2020

Blues song which reflects on a simple theme: no matter what, you need to just keep moving.

Before the pandemic lockdowns, I was working on a live acoustic that featured covers from mang of favorite artists like: Little Walter, Jimmy Rogers and Howling Wolf. Once the lockdowns started, I switched my focus to recording. To ease my way into recording, I composed this song.

Lyrics

Rice and tea way down the road for me
Well the storm is rising and I got to store my gear

Well the sun is shining somewhere down the road
Well the wind is howling and it's telling me, you got to go
Well hear the trees and they know it's time to go

This ain't nowhere, you want to be
If she'd take me back, it would set me free
Rice and tea are way down the road for me

Well the wind it howls and it telling tails to me
I see the trees, they are pointing down the road
Just see those trees, they are pointing down the road

The wind is pacing, it's says, you've got to go
It's hard to see the sign of where to go
Your feet are shuffling but it's time to go
You know tomorrow, you'll be down the road

The storm is cracking and it's telling you time to go
The sun is shining and I know it's there somewhere
The wind it howls and it's telling you time to go
Tomorrow is coming and it's time to be that way
